🌿 Alocasia Care Guide
Light
Bright, indirect light is best. Think dappled forest light—avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch their leaves.
Water
Keep the soil lightly moist, but never soggy. Let the top inch dry out between waterings. They dislike sitting in water.
Humidity
Alocasia love humidity. If your home is dry, consider a pebble tray or placing them near other plants to create a soft, humid microclimate.
Temperature
Warmth is key. Keep them in a cozy spot (18–27°C) and away from drafts or sudden temperature changes.
Soil
Use a well-draining mix—something light and airy. A blend with potting soil, perlite, and a bit of bark works beautifully.
Feeding
Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Pause in fall and winter when growth slows.
Dormancy (Don’t Panic!)
If your plant loses leaves in fall or winter, it may be resting. Reduce watering and wait—new growth often returns in spring.
Common Issues
- Yellowing leaves → overwatering
- Crispy edges → low humidity
- Drooping → check both watering and temperature
“Alocasia are a little dramatic—but given the right care, they reward you with striking, almost otherworldly beauty.”
